A natural born Durhamite, Anna always knew she wanted to be both a performer and an educator. While performance itself is the top priority, the purpose of art is to share it with others, which includes teaching the given art. Launching ASAP Studios with her best friend Spencer Boop and the preparation of her new album, "See You In Space," marks the future as bright for "Aimmity." Anna is always enthusiastic and hardworking with the pulse and is always doing her best to improve musically, solo or with the group.
BEN FELDER
GUITAR KEYBOARDS BACKUP VOCALS
Ben Felder was a founding member of The Pulse, as well as playing bass guitar in a previous group with Josh Rubenstein. He was trained classically on the piano from age 5, and quit lessons at 11 to redirect his musical endeavors toward rock piano and guitar. Over the years he has attempted to broaden his horizons by experimenting with instruments such as the Cello and Trumpet. He is an enthusiastic performer and an active participant in Acting/Musical Theater programs. He loves working with the Pulse and is always willing to work hard on and off the stage.
SCOTT MARKS
GUITAR KEYBOARDS
Scott Marks has been playing piano since he was three, and was one of the founding members of The Pulse. He originally took classical lessons, but switched to jazz piano when he was 11. His piano playing is inspired by jazz artists such as the Roy Hargrove Quintet, Miles Davis Quintet, Charlie Parker, and Herbie Hancock, as well as other artists like Stevie Wonder and Geddy Lee of Rush. He first was interested in learning guitar when he was 12, at which point he started teaching himself to play his dad's guitar. about 3 months later, he started taking guitar lessons from Django Haskins. Since then he has been influenced by Alex Lifeson of Rush, John Petrucci of Dream Theatre, Slash of Guns N' Roses, and Django's own guitar work in The Old Ceremony.
JOSH RUBENSTEIN
BASS GUITAR BACKUP VOCALS
Josh Rubenstein has been playing and enjoying music as long as he can remember, pursuing it in all of its forms. Priding himself as a multiinstrumentalist (guitar, bass, and drums) and musical encyclopedia, he is always willing to work hard for the music and band that he is a part of. Josh has always followed the philosophy he entitled "band unity". In order to be the best band you can be and produce the best music, you must truly love the music and people that you are creating it with. Known for his legendary slap technique, Josh takes cues from his various musical influences, fueling his passion and love for music.
